The Storyville Brassband was founded in the year
2009 by an experienced musician, who has already experienced the typical
New Orleans Street Music. The musicians are
coming from different brass bands like the N`Awlins Brassband, Happy
Feet Brassband. The Storyville Brassband plays different forms of Jazz.
In particular that's New Orleans Jazz, Blues, more modern music pieces,
Swing and Funky jazz. The musicians come from Jazz/Funk and Swing music directions
that are all influenced by jazz. This combination of the individual
music directions provides an interesting music experience. The success
of our Brassband probably lies in the fact that the music directly comes
to the public and by that its presentation is very variable. From the
Street (our stage is the Street) it directly goes into a sales shop, on
a ship in the port or through a bus that drives by. Therefore we neither
(compellingly) need a stage nor any other music plant. Our music is not
strengthened and therefore every-thing is naturally. Usually we play on:
Street celebrations, Jazzfestivals, Birthdays, Firm causes and more. In
small Pubs, Restaurants or Taverns with direct contact to the audience.
